Say Hello to The School Girl...

So this marks the first week for grad school. I made it into the program and now its time to buckle down and do the damn thing. Last Friday we had our orientation, which was the entire day (I’m talking from 8:00am to 6:00pm). The day was intense, exciting, and exhausting. It was a two-day session. On the first day they required all of us to wear business attire (suits). When I arrived it was so refreshing to see a room full of young and eager students ready to embark on a new adventure.

Of course the majority of students are white men, followed by middles eastern men, a sprinkle of Asians, and women. There are four blacks in the MBA programs, two men and two women (including myself). Despite this realistic reflection of corporate america, I felt I was in a privileged position. It was at that moment when I felt I was on the same playing field as white men. Here I am getting the same education, tapping into the same resources, and achieving the same goal. It was freaking fantastic.

So I also met my study group, which I will have for the duration of my program. There are six members and I am the only woman. Also, note I have some hot guys in my group. There’s this one white guy that I am totally feeling. I spotted him day one in his suit looking all tasty. Even while we were sitting together as a group, I had to remind myself to stay focus on the subject at hand. After all, I have 16 months to get to know this guy better. On Saturday we had to do some team building exercises and you know who my partner was. Mr. White Guy (that’s going to be his name). Even on “casual” Saturday he looked scrumptious. He drives a Ranger Rover sport and he lives somewhere in downtown, other than his profession that’s all I know thus far.

The next year and some change is going to be a challenge but I am destined to do well. Here’s the link to my program if you give damn…

Congrats and good for you. I'm sure you'll succeed at this new venture and having a cutie to work with can surely alleviate the stress *wink*

congrats on grad school. I hope it goes well for you.. Keep those eyes on the prize and not on the guy. (though I know what you mean when you see a good looking man) he'll come through and if he's good enough he'll help you finish school, then he'll snag you up. But you know its always and added bonus to have a good looking face to add to the whole adventure.
