How’s Your Stock Relationship?

Like stock your relationship with that special person is suppose to be a valued asset in one’s life. It’s something that should mature in value over time and in essence it’s that ultimate high/companionship you experience with your mate. Therefore, the way you feel with this person in your life should be the greatest return on investment.

Assets: Any possessions that has value in an exchange.

Initially when you meet this person and decide to become a couple; the sun seems to shine brighter and the grass is definitely greener. You believe this person/stock is a bull. You invest your time, resources, and feelings into this person because you believe this person will add substance to your life. Also known as long in investing. Together you guys will rise as a unit. It’s just me and my baby!

Bull: An investor who thinks the market, a specific security or an industry will rise.

Long: The buying of a security such as a stock, commodity or currency, with the expectation that the asset will rise in value.

Your Stock is Looking Great!

Once the honey moon phase is over true colors begin to surface. You start to get comfortable and feel there's no need to put your best foot forward any more. The spontaneous dates start to fade. Your sex life went from everyday to once a month. You’re not seeing each other as often as you use to. Someone has an issue with trust. You’re no longer communicating, and it seems like the other person is always getting their feelings hurt. The true signs of a bear. Instead of making some adjustments or fixing the situation you “do your own thing”. This my friend, would be known in the investing world as an ostrich.

Bear: An investor who believes that a particular security or market is headed downward.

Ostrich: A slang term given to investors or other market participants who ignore important pieces of information or situations, which have the ability to impact them or the market in which they operate.

Pretty soon one party may start to drift away and explore other options. They are no longer truly holding your best interests at heart. They are now looking to satisfy their unfulfilled needs and wants. This is the sign of a Pig, or I would like to say a dog (for either gender).

Pig: An investor who is often seen as greedy, having forgotten his or her original investment strategy to focus on securing unrealistic future gains.

Generally we as women ignore all of the warning signs or our instincts and decide to weather the storm. Our heart and emotions cloud our judgment and we’re no longer being rational or using our brains. We know things aren’t right yet we continue to remain in the situation for numerous reasons. The true signs of a sheep.

Sheep: An investor who lacks a focused trading strategy and trades on emotion and the suggestions of others, including friends, family and financial gurus.

Your Stock Starts to Not Look too Good Anymore!

You know you’ve reached the final stages of a relationship when both parties are no longer happy. You are now starting to resent each other, the arguments start to increase. You find yourself together still more out of obligation than love. But at what point do you start to listen to your closing bell?

Closing Bell: A bell that rings to signify the end of a trading session.

For the most part, I've always been the optimistic bull. However throughout the years I've made the mistake of partnering with investors who were ostriches and pigs. Therefore my outlook of the market became one of the bear who realized that things were spiraling downward. It took for the stock market to crash for me to realize how important it is to invest with a fellow bull. Now that I've done so, the future outlook of my stock is quite promising.

Moral of the story: Leave the chickenheads alone

@G-Mo- Yes, it’s important to make sure we’re choosing our mates more wisely now. Especially as you get older.

In fact, your post today falls right in line with my whole theory.

@Sarccastik- LOL, doesn’t matter where you are currently, it’s never too late to reevaluate one’s situation...

@Nikki- Thanks!!!

I was a little hesitant about writing this post. Didn’t know how it would fly, but then again this is my shit…LOL

Your post today was particularly on point.

I don't know what the hell I am either? At times I tend to be a little of each but I don't think any of the terms really fit me.

Well, Mr. G's stock has plummeted significantly but Mr. K is a win/win and definitely a BUY.

As usual, mine is on point too.
