Video Chicks Unite

A few questions after viewing this clip:

1. What is the overall theme/message we are trying to convey by airing this “convention”?
2. After viewing this am I suppose to empathize with the misconceptions of the “video vixen”?
3. The last chick boast about how she’s a professional career woman and does videos on the side. What family is really going to recruit you as their realtor? I suppose her advertisements for her business can be seen on MTV, VH1, and BET.

I’m not trying to knock anyone’s hustle. But let’s be “real” about the situation. You are not some union of teachers or labor workers. You make your money by “performing” in music videos. If you want a break in the industry get some formal training, get some decent exposure, and find a creditable agent. Yet you don’t understand why society judges you and doesn’t take you seriously.

What some this up is the old phrase "Actions speak louder than words"

i'm with you... we can not tell how smart or talented you are by letting nelly slide a credit card down the crack of your a$$ in the tip drill video... its just not going to happen... and until they are real with themselves about what it really means to be a video chick.. they will never understand the dynamic

It's amazing how much impact Karrine "Superhead" Steffans has had on these women. I suppose it's now classy to present yourself in a hoeish manner and fight for the right to be considered a treated like a sexual hand puppet.

What I Have To Say
