What's the BIG rush?

Goals + Success + Starting a Family = Living a fulfilling Life.

This is the formula I’ve set to live my life personally. It’s not only important for me to have goals and aspiration but to also have the courage to make things happen. Once I’ve successfully satisfied what it is I've set out to do; then I will be capable of giving someone myself completely.

As time continues to go by I started questioning what exactly should I be doing at 27 on the verge of turning 28. Generally speaking people in my age group may have kids, married, or reaping some benefits of professional success. Am I missing out on something by choosing not to make having a baby or getting married an immediate goal? Does that really make me selfish? By putting my needs and dream ahead of being Mrs. Mom, does that make me a bad woman? By forfeiting the opportunity to play house now does that mean I’ll grow old and alone?

Goals + Curve Ball + Giving Up + Staring A Family = Bitter person

When I hear people making such assumptions usually they’re in fact the ones who 86 their dreams because they gave in to a few curve balls life threw their way. These are the same people who usually harbor hostile feelings towards their mate, and/or kids because they don’t want to blame themselves.

Goals + Giving Up + Denial = Unhappy self- destructive person

I would much rather be a happy, 27 years old, child free, and legally single woman than a fuck up. A fuck up, with kids, nothing to offer her kids, and a useless relationship.

So what is the BIG rush for starting a family? Isn’t the perfect time to start one, once you’ve lived a good and self-satisfying single life, and have something to share with your family? Why bring your old personal baggage into a new family?

I hear you lady. There is nothing wrong with knowing what you want and putting Mrs. Mom on hold until that success comes. But I don't need to tell you that. You already know. ;-) You know that you knew even before you wrote that post. ;-)

no need or want in being bitter, i totally feel you on that one...there is totally no reason, none what so ever to start a family until YOU are totally ready to do so...you want to be HAPPY to be a mother...what others define as happiness and peace are totally relative...its all about you own PERSONAL definition...you already got that, so just stick with it
