Pardon me while I’m expressing random thoughts due to the fact that currently I am in a position to where I need to defend who I choose to date. I understand that other’s opinion(s) are totally irrelevant to how I ultimately choose to live my life (especially when it doesn’t involve any self-destructive behavior). I find it amusing how people are always quick to give their words of “wisdom” as it relates to a person they know. Yet the lifestyles they live totally contradict the words they are preaching.

Isn’t it best sometimes to just say: “Hell if I know” or “I’m not sure what that feels like”?

Are we so vain that we actually believe we have ALL of the answers? Is it wrong to consider the person rejecting the advice hopeless?

Happiness: good fortune; pleasure; contentment; joy.
Is a word I would use to describe the way I feel since dating Mr. Godiva.

Meaningful: full of meaning, significance, purpose, or value; purposeful; significant.
This word best describes our interactions with one another.

Stimulate: to rouse to action or effort, as by encouragement or pressure; spur on
Is a feeling I get whenever I am in his company.

Relate: to establish a social or sympathetic relationship with a person or thing
Something we manage to do effortlessly.

So again I ask why do I need to defend my relationship with a guy who evokes the aforementioned feelings/words?

Two of the many highlights of this past weekend I spent w/ Mr. Godiva is when we went to Borders to purchase some books on the same subject we both have in common. He also introduced me to a book that I absolutely love, which in fact gave me the motivation to pursue some entrepreneur ventures I’ve had on the back burner. Also, I love cooking with him. He enjoys cooking and the time we spent in my kitchen as he showed me how to doctor up a homemade soup I made was priceless.

It isn’t about the physical aspect of our relationship (although that is great too). It’s important for me to have someone in my life who encourages and inspires me to be better. It’s about meeting someone who elevates, complements, and enhances you.

oh yeah, one more thing...let the haters hate...it shows their obvious envy of you having someone/something good in your life that they'd have to resort to his age/race to make you question him or the relationship

It’s about meeting (& BEING WITH) someone who elevates, complements, and enhances you.

That's it and that's all...we don't know what's best all the time, that's why I PERSONALLY try to never say "you should do x,y,z..." I try to start with "well, when this happened to ME...this this and this..." because you are right we do NOT have all the answers and that's ok...

I also like what blu said in the pervious post...not all of our friends can know everything, everything is not for everyone...

Brothers are going to hear what they want to hear when they want to hear it and so are girlfriends...so go for what you know...and just be, sis...
just be HAPPY

You keep doing what is right for you. I do not know who is trippin' but, I say a loud WHATEVER to them on your behalf. Be happy. I hope that the relationship you and Mr. Godiva have continues to grow.

(mumbling) I so dislike Stupid people. Ought to do something about their own lives or focus on REAL problems. Let the woman be happy, damn!!
